We are so thankful you are here. This project was born from the need for representation in illustrations depicting anthropologists and other scientists as more than just a monolith.
We wanted to provide a diverse set of illustrations of anthropologists (people who study humans) that are suitable for both children and adults for public outreach. We know that representation matters and we want to empower and engage people around the world through illustrations of anthropology and related fields. We want people to become familiarized with our disciplines and we want to illustrate the types of people who become anthropologists. This is why we are disseminating these illustrations free of charge for personal and non-commercial use. Thank you for visiting our page!
Our intent is to illustrate diversity in anthropology. Photographs are a fantastic way to communicate what is occurring in the real-world accurately, but illustrations can be more visually appealing. Although we try to be scientifically accurate, some of our images are not 100% accurate to real-world settings and should not be interpreted as such. The illustrations should not be used as a way to teach methods, demonstrate safety procedures, or explain precisely what occurs in professional occupational settings. The purpose of the illustrations is to showcase diverse representation for public outreach.
